I agree, take a small break. Play some console games or something. That's what I used to do when I played wow a lot. I'd get bored of it so I'd go play an Xbox game or 2 that I wanted to play. Try playing a different genre like a shooter or something. I know once D3 and Mass Effect 3 come out, I'll prob play a little less of swtor to play those. Just because we pretty much have end game content on farm atm, and I've been waiting for those 2 games for forever.

Yeah I'll agree its probably burnt out on MMOs in general, but I'll admit current SWTOR PvP doesn't help either. I'll try out Guild Wars 2 when it comes.

Take a small break, we'll be here when you come back Happy

I agree with Kirarra... I myself got royally burnt on MMOS a while back and just quit gaming all together for a few months. While yes I openly admit that when Guild Wars 2 releases I will be playing but, hell its a free 2 play AAA mmo that will have shit to do that no other MMO has ever offered... That is IF they can get it to function right. Doesnt mean I am going to quit SWTOR or that I am going to put TOR on a back burner... What is going to determine whether TOR stays my main game or not will depend on BW and actually delivering on the bug fixes they announce instead of just trying to bury it with more content the way Age of Conan did and epically failed at...

wise words Kiarra. i have actually been trying to intermingle other games with each new game so that the newness takes longer to fade. different types of games helps a ton

Exactly Kiarra. I think a lot of ppl are thinking that SWToR will be something brand new and will have stuff that has never been done before. When the fact is that most of it will be the same, with slight differences. You really can't have fun when comparing this to other MMOs. You just gotta see it for what it is.

I too remember the newness that was WOW and it was great.

How long have you been playing MMO's? I assume that you are just getting burned out on the entire mmo thing in general. Maybe take a break and do some fps console games for a bit for a clearer perspective. I burned myself out playing wow every day and quit all games for about 6 months. Without a good solid break it all just seems lame after awhile.

My kids have been comparing this to when they very first started playing wow. They remember when everything was so new and shiney to them and of course they were total noobs and several years younger. Now nothing compares because they don't have the newness any more and their maturity level is considerably different. I recommend to them not to compare but to appreciate the game for what it is and enjoy that, but it is hard to do.

I guess what I am trying to say is, you can change the mmo but basically they are all the same. If you are burned out on the format then trying another type of game might be an answer or simply taking a break or cut back. Once you get burned out on one mmo it is hard to find any that will make you happy. no comment

Yea, I've done a bunch of Ilum and it's OK. I did somewhat enjoy WAR PvP but the problem with that game is that to take over the enemy city, it was based around a PvE fight.

Guild Wars 2 looks interesting for PvP due to the WvWvW and the 500 player cap per WvWvW zone with keeps and other objectives to provide server bonuses (very similar to DAoC) and the PvP is based solely off of skill rather than gear where gear is mainly for aesthetics. We shall see though.

In regards to Ilum... I'm thinking they should redesign the whole concept of what Ilum should be. I think it needs more objectives with a definate affect on what happens in the zone. Maybe something more along the lines of Tol Barad or Wintergrasp from WoW, but not exactly.

Maybe have the zone start how it is now, but lets say each faction starts at 1 end of the zone. Or maybe everyone start in the middle and after a countdown, everyone will begin to fight for control of the central point. Once there isn't anyone left of the opposing faction, the winning faction gains control of the point. Then we would to try to take over the next opposing faction's assault point. Once we do, it is ours and we move forward to their next assault point. Or, they can try to push us back and reclaim their point. Once we control all points we move up to their base and try to take it over. If successful, we own the zone for a period of time or something similar, like completion of a daily or a piece of pvp gear and some valor. The game could then reset within a period of time. The game could be a constant tug of war back and forth from taking over and defending the assault points. There needs to be a definate goal and consequence in order for it to be more fun.

Have you went to illum at all??? Theres at least some PVP there and then you wait for your shit to pop... To me Guild Wars looks as boring as the first one. Even PVP looks stupid since there is no gear so i dont see a reason for any end game fun...

Yep. I'm not particularly keen on PvE and once I was 50, most of my time was spent just sitting in the Imperial Fleet waiting for BG pops and grinding for champ bags. I guess it's my fault for being spoiled by DAoC pre-ToA PvP.

Hello all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I won't be on too often since I've lost interest in the game due to lackluster and repetitive PvP.

I would like to know though if this guild is thinking of creating a Guild Wars 2 guild since the PvP and game play looks very promising in that game.
